28 studios opened their doors on Haliburton County’s two studio tours in 2026, with 35 resident artists and 13 guests between them. The Studio Tour – Haliburton Highlands ran October 3–4 and 10–11, its 39th year; Highlands East Studio Tour ran August 22–23, its 24th year.
Most studios are open outside the tours by chance or appointment. Call before driving out.

What the count is, and is not
A tour is a membership, so this is every studio that joined a 2026 tour, not every studio in the county. Highlands East has a tour of its own, smaller than the one that covers the rest of the county, so a township’s count says as much about which tour its artists join as about how many live there. The comparison table shows the figure and does not rank it.
A mailing address is not a township: 1009 Osprey Road has a Haliburton address and is in Minden Hills. Each studio is placed by the side of the road its civic address is on, from the Ontario Road Network, which records a range of house numbers and a municipality for each side of every road. Positions on the map are points along the road, not the buildings.

The road segment puts this side of Tulip Road in Minden Hills; the interpolated point falls in Algonquin Highlands, and sits on or near the line. The side of the road decides. The tour itself may name the other township; the road network is the only source that records which side of the line an address is on.
