What these figures carry
- A file appears here when it reaches council, which is not when it was received. This is council caseload, not application volume.
- Counted over harvested packages only. A municipality with fewer meetings here has fewer harvested meetings, not necessarily fewer meetings.
Which way is better
Contested. Caseload is demand, not performance. A council with more planning files before it is a council in a place where more people want to build, which is neither an achievement nor a failing. Nothing on this page is ranked, and the bars are ordered by size rather than by merit.
